Located in Uganda, the aim of Green Energy (U) Ltd,
among others, is to organize the production of feedstocks like sesame
(simsim), sunflower, and corn/maize for the manufacture of biofuels.
Reflecting Sir Richard Banson's commitment to the Clinton Global
Initiative focusing on biofuels, the company plans to organize small
farmers, beginning from Northern and Eastern Uganda and eventually many
parts of Africa to grow crops for processing into biofuels and other
products. As a consequence small farmers will improve their living
standards, and the world will use fuels that are benign to the
environment.
Green Energy's founders believe their dedication and
commitment will make a big difference in the lives of many who don't
know about the London Stock Exchange or New York Stock Exchange or the
NASDAC. International financial support will help this project take
off.

"
Michael Odiya has a vision. When he looks at the sun-baked land of northern Uganda he doesn’t see the remnants of 20 years of civil war or the poverty or the seeming lack of opportunities. What he sees are acres of simsim/sesame, palm oil and sunflowers, cultivated by local growers for processing into biofuels at a local plant. He sees solar panels on the roofs of buildings, powering everything from water pumps, water heating tanks, solar light bulbs, energy saving refrigerators, battery chargers, mobile power stations, street lighting and bus stop lighting, street signs, solar cookers, air cooling and heating.
In those fields and buildings, Odiya sees the men, women and children of his native country leading better lives."
